be yourself 😁😜

There's a blog down there, in the same page, written may 2 years ago, about being happy or becoming successful in life.

We often mix these 2, hapiness & success.. interchange these 2 words or concepts.. when it comes to life.

And often the end goal of life is success/happiness.

We (all of humans) try to find some purpose/s to lead life, and achieving them become purpose.  Without purpose, we are dull and not motivated or don't use our energy.

And when we set a purpose or purposes which are against our true self, or our true energies, we are conflict, problems, confusion etc.

Thus giving ourselves time to understand our true self, or true energies become first step.  These true energies we have to accept..  whole heartedly... Then only it works.

But often we set our purposes based on other people, or other energies.  For example,
A perfect monogamous relationship life long,
Or an artistic endeavour (include music, dance, painting, writing etc).
Or a million dollars or something physical or social wealth.

Accepting the true energy is not easy.  We might figure out, our energy combination might not provide a measurable success or achievements in our whole life time.  We might find, like some people, we will grow old and die, without a specific achievement or reaching a standard goal.

And that might leave us dissatisfied and unhappy.  But true energy cannot be measured in this way... Not even in one life time..  it's not the destination or end goal..  it's wheather you were true to self (self energies) as much as possible.

Nobody can remain same (truthful or fake) all the time.. even after understanding all this, we will keep going up and down..  sometimes more intelligent than we are, and other times much more stupid than we are..  life is collection of such ups and downs..  smart & bad and average decisions..  (even within 24 hours, we go through alll these).

Many people block themselves at some point and start living that way for many years or a life time itself.  And that any introspective person will know doesn't really work.  We can easily observe those, who are faking it, lying about it, to themselves.  Other people around us also see through suck fakeness.

It's easier to spot it in others than self.  Thus, we have to work on honest self observation... Not just a day or 2, but for years and years..  the more understanding of true self, or true energies we realise, things change.

But there is no final judgement... As what's best life.. what's happy or sucessful life..  it will depend on our true energies.  Some may have energies which can be measured.. in a social or numbers way... Many won't have such measurebleness....

We have to accept that too..  that many things or achievements are not measurable in the current world.   If one has that kind of energies, learn to accept them truthfully.. rather than lying to self.

I might add, learning about our true self, and learning to live with that...  Will clean our karma of this life..  otherwise we carry forward it to next life.   (It's a hypothesis, I don't rigidly say, karma concept or future lifes exist).  Just one way to understand these concepts.

It's complicated... All the above.  Hope something makes sense.  If not, then you are (your energies) are not ready for it, or your energies don't need to understand them.   Be yourself... It's a blessing!

* If you didn't understand these above writing, then please don't force yourself to.  Everything in it's time.

inner travel

As you travel, it's common to meet very different people..  and reach different levels of interaction.

With some a different level of communication happen, but usually not many.  Each human being at different phases (of life) will have different filters.

Thus sometimes same person would have changed and that old connection no longer exist.  But with those whom i had open and transparent interaction, acceptance of that change happens smoother.  I let them be, and they let me be.

I am never comfortable with possessive types of connections, and that filter for me is a usual one.  Of course many a time I've made mistakes in this understanding.  Though over the years, i try to keep this awareness... That another person may not be the way i thought them to be.

And same for them.  They might make mistakes in perceiving me.   I remember talking with such a friend about these things, and mutually agreeing to accept each other as we will be.. as changing creatures that we all are.  Thus keeping a non-possessive friendship.  (It's not easy, but rewarding in the long term for both).
*This extends to both our other connections as well.  The other's friends can become mutual friends, but i try not to connect with that new person as a separate entity (this again is not easy, and not common either).  Many wouldn't like it, and then it doesn't happen.  But it does happen and that old relationship doesn't remain the base, a new connection occurs..  in the same open way.  (Though for me, just at mental level only, well, that'd be for another blog maybe;)
Probably it's reflected in many a traveler's attitude.  A healthy respect to let go and let in.  And with such friends, there's no constant or regular communication, and sometimes for years, there's no communication.  When we meet again, we try to share current state/phase and if there's mis-match, we keep distance.  Without much cribbing or complaints :)

And at times, i go into a cave, many months long i prefer to be utterly solo.  It's not everyone's cup of tea..

Honesty, trust, acceptance as you are (thus non judgemental to a large degree), and openness to share.. these are some filters, and sense of humour too..  it's not easy to have filters, and probably not the ideal.. but fortunately I've become comfortable in accepting less than ideal.. in me to some extent.  A future world of genderless i foresee, and gender conditioning can be very deep.  And traveling happen not only externally but internally as well.  So explorations keep ongoing.

Vague definitions...

I was thinking about - how we humans try to identify ourselves and others into categories...

And if someone doesn't fit into a category easily, it leads to irritation & anger, jealousy, passive-aggression, shame, pride etc.

I realised I don't belong to general conventional labels/groups.. and living solo is as easy or as tough as relationships or anything else for that matter..

And the master of the world..  jagannath..  wandering the beaches..  ceremonial herbal drinks are part of the ceremony.

I had not smoked up in the last 4 days.. empty stomach .. just 1 glass is taking me on a great trip.. calming me thru insights

My identity is not constant.. (we all are a mixed group of different energies), and we change all the time. Sometimes others tell me, you haven't changed.. same as 7 years ago.. (or something like that).

But i look at such a statement with high doubt/skeptically. Because my internal journey is not straight line..

That internal flow/journey is just like nature.. different seasons, different intensities.. often chaotic.. and we unnecessarily try to manage our life into compartments.

Hope the loop ended now.

(Ceremonial wandering*. Of a shamanic spirit, is a trip to be experienced, and with preparations.  Avoid intoxicants, heavy food etc for few days and 48 hours prior fruit only diet.. then drink*)

Hippie puran 2

Well, I've heard from a hippie, who had heard it from someone else..  some such stories.  Are they real?  Absolutely not.  Couple of times, around a camp fire full of smoke and full of darkness around, I've heard them.  Long beard and dreads, no names, and disappearing before dawn.. those were the common reoccurrence.

Around me, in a circle, few figures sat.  Are you a human? One of them asked.  Out of curiosity, i affirmed.  Some herbal tea was boiling on a blackened, misshapen kettle on the fire.  A glass full of that was passed around in between.

After few sips, I asked back, are you human?

Yes, for now. Was the cryptic reply.  Nothing much else was happening.  After a period of unknown time, couple of them began to chant.  No words, just sounds.  It was very different, but entrancing.  After sometime, one of them got up to collect wood and invited me to join.  It was fun wandering and gathering.

When i returned to the fire circle, few mats were spread around, and some food was being cooked.  I realised everyone was contributing, without much talking.  This kind of sharing and activities were going around.

Without realising, that night ended and sun came up.  In a nearby tree, a shade was set up and the circle moved over.  And couple of days sped by.  And then i found myself alone, near a road on the third morning.  Were they hippie gods?  What was the purpose of it all? It sure wasn't a dream is all i can assure.

There's one more experience, which I'll share later.

Hippie Puran

Puran or Puranam means mythology.  So does mythology of hippies exist?  There's Norse, Greek, Egyptian, Hindu, Aboriginal etc etc myths.  Often connected to a religion.

Miracles, super powers, prophets, talking animals, apocalypse, hell, heaven, immortals etc etc are plenty in such myths.. and a lot of violence and destruction as well.  What can a hippie mythology be?  Personally i have no Idea.  But some people wanted to share what they seem to know.

Some anonymous blog posts will be uploaded by them in near future.

Institutionalised religious groups, many types exist, and many have Billions of dollars, and followers.  But hippie mythology is never for such purposes.  That'd be contradictory.  Thus there's no priests or agents.  They are just for peace and understanding, as a hippie might say.  Now there's nothing else to do, but wait for the chapters to unfold.  Peace out.

"healing rainbow" part 3, from rg series

From past, going on to the future...  A "healing rainbow" coming up in Himalayas!

"Healing rainbow" is without tobacco, marijuana, psychedelics, caffeine etc.  (Alcohol and meat needn't be mentioned).

And it's a BIG "off" switch to many..

*{And as they say in rainbow 🌈,  Be the foculizer of own idea/s}.

* (Starred) sentence will be explained later.

(If you never been to a rainbow, or haven't read 'part 1 or 2' then it's time to do that, to know in detail about healing rainbow gathering).   Now to some reactions to"healing rainbow".

... When discussion about healing rainbow happens, some reactions to "healing" aspect are:

a) "Bro, why healing rainbow?  Weed is "healing" for me..  and why not smoke outside rainbow boundaries or inside my OWN tent privately?

b) ..what? Maybe for full moon, some psychedelics should be ok for those who want it..

c)  ..how can there be any guarantee that no one will bring some 'substance' which is not supposed to be in healing rainbow?  It's all part of all these rainbow anyway...

d) ok, I can understand not allowing, alcohol, weed etc, but why ban "sugar"?   Or any other one not allowed thing, instead of that sugar from earlier sentence.

(There are many other reactions, positive and negative, but here the 4 reactions are taken up to have some realisations or focus).

 - if you have ever tried to abstain from some specific consumption in the past, then remember those times.  What would you feel if a group of you together, are trying to fast or abstain from smoking etc, and find a group member/s are going afar and consume it and rejoin, how'd you feel?

 - if a group of people want to have a healing rainbow, what's the point of going into that and have a general or another type of rainbow in their midst?  (An analogy could be, a group of people set up a group ashtanga yoga session, but a person joins them to do tribal dance in their midst).

 - if you want to crash a healing rainbow with opposing activities, does that make you a ideal rainbow?  (It might be ideal for a SS applicant though! ;)

 - to live together in far into forest, together as a family, would you be interested in having such a group member, who is showing scant support for the healing group process, and privately breaking the healing intentions?

(Stopping here with counters, because beyond this will not help to change a 'drainbow' to a rainbow ;)

And now to the * (starred) sentence explanation...  If you want another type of rainbow, then create one!  Own your idea and be foculizer!!

**An addition: not bringing any substance with you (to be avoided in "healing" rainbow), creates the most supporting energy possible.   Even if checking for illegal (as per legal system) substances happen, a open/transparent attitude to it will gain additional support as well.  Everyone confidently will open up for checking, and it's a foundation for healing.

Disclaimer: not interested in debates or arguments.  As a friend suggested, "what would be the energy, if someone joins a vegan group activity with bellyfull of chicken (even if it was eaten secretely?)..

Let the minority rule of consensus make everyone realise living light way of life!

"healing rainbow" - part 2 on R gathering

Below is information on a "healing rainbow" from France.  It's been copy pasted for any reader who wants to know about "healing rainbow" specifically.   (Excerpts).

The RAINBOW  healing retreat in BIELLA  Alps calls us to come together...

A healing rainbow has the same rules like a rainbow gathering plus some more rules : substances that are easily addictive are forbidden (like sugar, coffe, tobacco, every kind of drugs, marijuana, white flour etc) .

If you want to try this experience you are welcome. Please don’t bring these substances because it can be a problem for people that want to try to stop with tobacco or something else and want to be in a place without temptation. Please, respect our common vision !!!!

Rainbow is a free gathering in nature, where we stay in a simple way, WITHOUT TECNOLOGY and WITHOUT TECNIOLOGICAL DEVICES. Food is Vegan. Raw for lunch, for dinner also cooked (if you have children you can use the kitchen to cook also during the day).

We cook all together in shift (volantary) and we eat all together around the Sacred fire. In that fire we only use Wood (dry wood that we collect around) . Into  the sacred space around the fire we enter only without shoes. We pay so much attention to our fire because it’s sacred and because we keep the ash as clean as possible, for people that collect ash in the morning to clean themselves.

When food is almost ready a call from the kitchen starts, that goes around in a chain. Before eating all together in a circle, we sing songs of rainbow tradition, and we do some OM.  Then some volunteers serve the food. This moment of sharing is a very important moment, also because  after meals there are annuncements for all the family...

At Rainbow gatherings money exchanges are banned, expect at the Magic hat...

At Rainbows there is always something to do!! Wood to be collected, water to bring to the kitchen, food missions, meals  to be cooked …

There are not real organizers and leaders, we all are responsible and creators of the gathering, we all cooperate, even a minimum, so we don’t leave the burden on the shoulders of few people.

Rainbow life is not so comfortable: we wash  in the cold river without soap in order to avoid pollution, ours toilet is a hole in the ground (that we cover with ash and earth), we sleep in tents or open air. And all these simple acts reconnected us with nature and our ancestors.

Despite we don’t use soaps (exeptions are made for 100% natural soaps like saponiferous clay etc but  always far from rivers or sources) but only ash and vinegar, personal hygiene is really important for health of everybody, and also some attentions like drink only from your own cup,  never make shit pit next to rivers or watersources.  Everyone is invited to have special care for personal hygiene, especially the one that are volontary in the kitchen and who serve food. All people that are dealing with common food must  have very clean hands, even under the nails.

Alcohol is also forbidden, in order to find new creative healthy way to have fun, especially acoustic music makes our nights around the fire. If you have knowledge or skills about anything and you want to share it you can bring the necessary for running a workshop.

During the day there may be all kind of workshops, like music , healing, holistic and meditation technics etc etc , and all of them are free.

We are sorry for dogs, but  for many reasonable reason we must ask to avoid bringing them.

WATH TO BRING : tent, sleeping bag, torch, warm clothes (the camp is 1300 m.), spoon, cup, dish, personal hygien kit, smiles, huges, music instruments.

AVOID TO BRING: alcohol, tobacco, coffee, sugar, every kind of hard or soft drugs, soap and toothpaste, electrical or electronic devices, old habits, hate (our aim is healing!!)

ADDITIONAL: (excerpt from a write-up about "healing rainbow"), by another person.

This was a Healing Rainbow Gathering. This meant that there was no smoking, alcohol, sugar or caffeine. The food was not all raw, but that was an option, and it was of course all vegan. The gathering felt happier, calmer and more relaxed than Palenque. There were far fewer people, and they were not coming and going all the time.

I stayed there for a week.

Series on "rainbow gathering" - 1

Post covid (2020) rainbow gathering, a post by a curious observer.  It's a nice article for those new to rainbow gathering concept.

"Welcome home.”

These are the first words anyone who attends a Rainbow Family of Living Light annual gathering will hear. It is both a greeting, and an affirmation that you found the right place and made it safely.

At a rest area near a remote north Vancouver Island river, colourful ribbons tied to branches of trees mark the way to the encampment, until you see several vehicles (some registered from out-of-province) parked alongside the trail.

Dread-locked hair, colourful attires, and smiling faces greet you along with the ‘welcome home’ chant at the entrance. Nobody asks who you are, or where you are coming from. Everyone here has come to escape ‘Babylon’ — a Rainbow term to describe the evils of modern life, such as technology and capitalism.

Members of the Rainbow Family of Living Light movement say they want to propagate a general ideology of acceptance and non-judgment. A deep sense of community and respect for individuals is fostered on these shared values.

“You can be comfortable being whoever you are and believing in whatever you want to,” said a man at the gathering who called himself Coco.

Another attendee, a young woman from Montreal, had flown in on Friday to be a part of the ‘celebration,’ her third. Several others are also returning attendees, some of whom have travelled around the globe to attend ‘world-gatherings’ of Rainbow Family. The gatherings are free and open to anyone as long as they have a “belly button,” said another attendee.

Rainbow Family — which originated in the U.S. sometime in the 1960s as a nondenominational, non-political counterculture group — has held annual gatherings all over the world since 1972. These gatherings attract a loosely-knit community of hippies, bohemians, nudists and itinerants, among others.

Based on Utopian ideals, Rainbow Family has no structure, no leadership, nor any spokesperson. Everything anyone says is expressed as ‘personal opinions’ and no one can tell anyone what to do.

Their gatherings usually takes place in July based on the lunar cycle, from full moon to new moon. There’s no end-date; people stay and leave at will. This year’s Vancouver Island edition has been in progress for more than two weeks.

It is taking place inside a remote forest area near Eve River in the vast, sparsely inhabited stretch of the Island between Campbell River and Port McNeill, where cellphone service ends and GPS coordinates are of no use.

A gas station employee at the Sayward junction is the best bet to ask for directions.

“I wish they wore shoes,” she says before pointing towards the direction in which she saw “many vans” heading over the past few weeks.

On Monday afternoon, at the gathering spot, colourful camping tents were spread across along the banks of a semi-dried-up pebbled river. Maybe two dozen people are visible. Children and pet dogs are playing by the stream of water outside their tents. A nude man practices yoga.

There’s a communal kitchen, featuring groceries that attendees packed in from farms or food banks. A sanitation spot with signage and a spray bottle has also been set up near a tree near the entrance.

“We’re practicing handwashing for COVID-19,” said Coco.

A small group of people have gathered around a fire pit where coffee is brewing. Full moon celebrations the previous evening went on from dusk until dawn. Musicians strum guitars softly and hum soft tunes as the smell of coffee and marijuana floats around. Everyone seems to be very relaxed or slowly waking up to the day.

The ‘sacred fire’ which was lit last week was still crackling in the afternoon. According to Coco, it will be kept “alive” throughout the duration of the gathering.

There are also ‘healing sessions’ that take place around the sacred fire before the evening gives way to music, dance and celebrations. A stick is passed from person to person around the circle and they are given the chance to speak and be heard. Some talk about their life journeys while others talk about traumatic, tough experiences. People also exchange and teach skills that they know to those who wish to learn.

Some were already packing to leave. A young woman from Vancouver who attended the gathering for the first time with her brother, said she will be back next year for the gathering as she found the experience of cutting away from technology and spending time in nature “personally uplifting.”

This year, the number of people who turned up was far less compared to previous gatherings, mostly because of the pandemic. While no one was wearing masks, people seemed to be cognizant of personal space.

A lot of people within the group have fluid beliefs when it comes to coronavirus. Some spoke about “preventive lifestyle” and the body’s capacity to self-heal and fight off any virus. Some dismissed the virus altogether as a conspiracy theory. None seemed to be overly perturbed by COVID-19.

Most learned about the gathering through informal Facebook announcements toward the end of June. Although there is no “leadership” for the Rainbow Family, a volunteer-based organizing council or “Seed Camp,” heads out to “scout” for a gathering place. The scout team also takes into account the ‘geopolitical’ nuances of the place, said Coco.

Over the years, the Rainbow gatherings have garnered controversy and an unfavourable reputation after incidences of violent behavior, drug abuse, murder and environmental littering in the U.S. was highlighted in the media.

In 2014, a news report by VICE highlighted the “dark side” of these gatherings, following a series of misadventures that took place at a gathering in Utah. A woman was arrested for stabbing a man and law enforcement also had to respond to drug overdose and people crashing a nearby wedding. The report also highlighted the group’s frequent clashes with forest authorities in U.S., saying “arrests and police run-ins have always been a hallmark of these gatherings.”

In 2013, Vancouver Island’s remote Raft Cove Provincial Park was shut down after authorities and locals found out that more than 2,000 people were looking to attend a planned Rainbow Family world gathering there.

Concerns of campfire bans, waste management and the fact that authorities had not been notified about the gathering were some reasons cited.

READ MORE: All but one North Island provincial park remains open

Rainbow Family members in this year’s Island gathering were quick to point out that a lot of people who attend are environmentally conscious. At the end of the gathering, groups of people volunteer to clean up, said one of the attendees. But without a structural hierarchy or ‘people-in-charge,’ it is difficult to say if the clean-up plan has been successfully implemented until after everyone has left the place.

Local authorities are aware of the Rainbow Family gathering. Constable Francios Veillette from the Sayward RCMP detachment, said that they are “monitoring the area” and there seems to be “no issues so far.”

People who have been attending the gathering for the past three or four years in B.C., have hardly noticed any problematic run-in with authorities.

“We’re peaceful people, we don’t incite violence or suport it and we respect everyone who comes to the gathering,” said an attendee.

For him, every year, coming to the gathering has been a pleasant experience almost like “coming home,” to familiar faces and new ones. His sense of belonging has never changed.

“Everyone is family here,” he said.

2020.. A new beginning

Maybe every year end feels like end of old era and new era beginning..  1999 to 2000 was such one.  But millennial label seems like the only big change.

But now with a new moon starting on 26th DEC, we will have a new year starting on ascendancy of light..  Maybe it has no significance, but 2020 does indicate surprises..  Positive for whole earth...

I remember a science fiction story from many decades ago..  It goes like this..
A person goes into coma, and wakes up in 2020...
The person (x is the name), starts asking questions to nurse about few things.

X: where am i?  Am in still in the same country or has national borders changed, when i was in coma?
Nurse: this is year 2020, many things / concepts have changed.  Every nation, place has multiple names now, so its not easy to explain.

X: thats confusing.  How does a nation defend itself then?
Nurse: there are no army or defense forces.  As noone has army, theres no need to defend.

X: ok, let me start from bare basics, whats your name?
Nurse: now everyone has multiple names, so an individual doesn't go by single identity.  Again this can be confusing for a 20th century person.

X: every thing has changed into multiple identity?  Then it must be a crazy world out there..
Nurse: there's no discrimination now, but for you, its crazy i guess..
Do you want to go back into your coma now?

Addition 2 CP..

The puran (mythology) continued..  As most scriptures, its told orally by many, and documentations are always sketchy.   Here's some by another anonymous writer.

Usually a CP starts with a c circle..  Few ppl join together, with things required, and sit around in a circle.  Silence regains, as these 4 to 5 ppl start preparation in full focus as respect.

A chillum is opened from its cover, the stone/gitti taken out and checked if clean... Mix of tobacco or herbal mix like dried Sage etc is mixed with small bits..  The story of the bits, from which mountain area its from etc is talked about.

A person who will start the chillum circle is agreed upon, and with respect, light / fire is offered.  The starter or boomer is the central attention, and given space to be ready... After booming, its circulated in left hand (shakti circle) or to right hand side (shiva circle).

Boom Bhole-Nath, Sabke saath..  (Light, bhole means innonocent/ naive / non conditioned by any social rules... And Nath means, master..  Sabke=everyone, and saath=together..
In English, light, o' master of naivity, with everyone...

When you are next in line to get the chillum, you have to respect the person smoking the chillum, and bless them in my by thinking, "may your lungs be strong"...  So it comes burning nicely to you...
As chillum circle is a quick karmic cycle, of giving and receiving..
Living together in respect and cooperation, of interdependent process.
Chillum circle is similar to red-indian 'peace pipe' ceremony or process.
And many people take it as seriously as Japanese tea ceremony rituals.

But chillum circle ceremony or ritual is getting lost..  But hopefully fans of chillum will keep this hundreds of year old simple tool, made with clay, alive in different ways.
This blog is a tribute to that circle of respect and togetherness humans can achieve!

What do i want?

I have been searching for many answers.
But specifically, how to be successful?  Has been a focus.  (I wasn't even aware, i had such a focus, on this question).

But, yeah, what's success?

Popularity, (acceptance by large number of people, that you are successful)...
Money (lots of resources),
Few close relationships, where others worship you...
Things and people named after you (proof that you have contributed to world)..

Many more things, i guess.

But, i have been focused on finding answers to these above..   My focus on studies, at profession/work, interaction with others, everywhere, this focus often distracted me.

It also did a good thing, along with time (years), it also distracted me from trying to go after success..  As i was more interested in finding out what success is (maybe as a theory).

So, i tried many ways, and more unconventional ways as time passed.  But it was tough, no answers were forthcoming.

I lost faith in conventional wisdom.  Stopped listening to others, played devils advocate with anything i read.. My popularity tanked (whatever small bit i had).  My career, personal life, intelligence, physical abilities, middle class childhood advantages (compared to majority of Indians, i was less poor)... All seemed to go down..  I was becoming a failure in society.

In middle class, you are taught one thing repeatedly...  Success is moving up in your economic class, thus moving up in social class as well.
Failure is, moving down..  If i am going down the base (economic class) i have been provided by my family, then its a big failure indeed.

Fortunately, in my focus to find my answers, i began to neglect this above middle-class wisdom.   (Even before i started a gypsy lifestyle, i had been an edgy rebel... Which i guess most people who know me will agree with).  Its not a compliment, not something positive for most people.. Being edgy rebel is kinda being stupid.

And as i neglected, how to be successful, gradually i realized that it doesn't matter..
I dont have to know how to be successful.
I don't have to find any answers..  I don't have to pigeon hole myself into any labels, or categories.

Earlier too, since many years earlier, i have been living an unconventional life.. But without much awareness of why's and how's.

I still have no answers, but the questions have gone.  Neglecting the conditionalities, of how to be successful, made those  questions go.   At least, that's what i have understood now.

I a twisted way, my middle class conditioning also proved to be its own remedy (for me, in my opinion).

Maybe you understood..  Maybe not..  But i had to try and share these awareness...

Chillum puran

Like all puran's, or mythology / scripture/legends of chillum, there are many stories..  Some even contradictory!

And there's no record or proof or any such thing.  These myths are organically evolved.  They spread like memes, and often applied in circles.

The circle consists of a group of people, who dedicate about an hour to sit around in a circle for the ritual.

As its prepared, someone does work to fill the mix, another prepare saafi, and someone else booms it.  There's often silence as its passed around, to right or left side, depending on choice of boomer, or the group belief.

Last person starts cleaning process.  At most respect is given to the process, with priority given to the ritual.. And to each member of the circle.  Similar to Japanese tea ceremony.

Each action required for the completion of the sharing is discussed in a logical way, with focus on sharing attitude and mutual convenience.

These details will be discussed by different people.  In each circle, some traditions are revealed through oral recounting of some story.

An often asked question is about shiva and shakti circles. First one goes to right side and second one goes to left.  A basic proposition is, it depends on the energy of the person booming it.  But thats just one theory.

More laters..

Out of confusion

Altered carbon is a book, been made into a tv series.. 2 more books been written as sequels as well.  A sci-fi, where 100's of years ahead, human consciousness can be uploaded into human body, or synthetic body.
Of course, morality n ethics, human rights etc change accordingly.
Just putting across this scenario, to connect with our present times.

So, what's some of the most pressing issues of present times?  What are your major dilemmas?

The idea of reading sci-fi is, to liberate ourselves to next levels, where many blocks won't exist.  But new dilemmas may.  If you are the type who gets confused by such mental jumps, this piece of blog is not for you.

But, if you like such stuff, keep reading.

So, are you willing to explore yourself in such alien waters?  Are you willing to explore or take such a trip?  Then, join..  A world without boundaries, limitations..  Full of abundance, where each moment is a trip of infinite possibilities, insights etc.  Which is scary.. But that's being an edge dancer..  The conventions of 21st century are history for you.  (Its not 20th century, but current century, which's been traversed by less than 20 years... At present).

Those trips are what you can look forward to.  Where whether you are wearing a black or brown or male or female body would not matter, whether human or alien..  As earth will be seen as inhabited by primitive species.

So bye to those confused, and tune in & tune out)..  Without bothered by out of body experiences.. Out of mind experiences are gonna be common soon...  Welcome to team..

Biggest bees...

There's lot of info about the biggest bees in the world online..  Not hornet but bee, specifically 'honey bee'..

Apis dorsata laboriosawas a subspecies of the widespread Apis dorsata, the giant honey bee, can be as big as 3 cm in length.

Adapted to Highlands, found in Nepal, these biggest honey bees have their hive's up in mountain cliffs.

But due to some specific reasons, these bees which live high up in altitude, produce a reddish honey, with unique properties.

The red honey's medicinal value which are attributed to the grayanotoxin present in the nectar collected from white rhododendrons.

Gurung people in Nepal are renowned for their use of this honey.

About 10 to 15 GMs of this honey, its reported that, highly surreal and paralyzed type of experience for many hours.

Its supposed to have cleansing properties, but comparatively tougher (tortuous) way to detox than most other methods.  Loss of body control, vomiting, etc can be part of this, and can last up to 5-6 hours long, and an additional day might be required to get back to your own self.  Fruit diet for couple of days, and a day of coconut water fasting, before consuming and within 10 to 30 minutes, loss of body control can occur.  Milk is considered as a way to neutralize, but recovery takes few hours.  Some wrongly consider it as a recreational thrill, but its a tough medicine...  Many youtube videos have helped to create misconceptions.

But as usual, these big bees are in danger, because their sensitive ecological areas are always over exploited by humans.

Bees and similar creatures are necessary links for plants to reproduce, but few people realize importance of bees...  Don't bee such...

whats Yeti?

The mythical big foot of Himalayas...  there is a unique camp site and cafe called Yeti near Kasol, Himachal Pradesh...

Kasol is generally considered a necessary evil, while travelling through Himachal Pradesh for trekking... but just 15 minutes of walk through a foot path, i reached Yeti camp, and felt like a mile away from any city scape...

fruit orchards all around, silence expect for birds, river and wind... majestic mountains glittering far away wearing snow caps... and some comforts of a cozy cafe...

it doesnt end there..  you can chase wild horses up the hills or play with friendly dogs, or search for a secret cave  down... star gaze or sun bath depending on your orientation..  a shanti culture evolved through closeness to nature..

and the people around, the type you could only imagine, the one's you would want around at night in a camp fire circle... letting you be whoever you are..  and to sing together, paint, or plant fruit trees..  all in a days happenings...  or a lone photographic exploration through own memories... where the weather changes like our emotions..

the tibetan prayer flags at Yeti's entrance had asked me on arrival, "are you ready to explore the Yeti in yourself?"..  i leave that question to you as well...

Old man..

His shoulders were bit bent, but his legs trek up defying gravity, up mysterious mountain paths..

Nearest cafe is 3 km away, through circuitous stone paths among pine forests, along roaring river carrying millions of liters of water everyday to the plains, crowded with cities..

Firewood aplenty, fruits decaying on tree roots as it should be, wild berries teasing you through thorny mazes, and wild plants and cloudy mountains to stare at..

This place in winter is to be lived, he whispered, while removing wild mint tea from Wood fire of his fireplace, and pouring it steaming to his visitors...

I am living here alone, since last 40 years, don't think I have not seen your cities..

hey this is a wake uo call from reality, get your shit loose!!!!  (the visitors mind whispered back to him... listen)...

your cities spewing with waste and even water comes in a pack (bottle) and you have no idea where its coming from.   here you go to a river, thee plants provide me food and warmth, which you see around.  he cruhed some leaves and proceeded to make his post lunch chillum.  they came from englishstan and say, you cant smoke this... see around, its a wild plant here, how can they say that to me?

this house is made of stone, which i carried from the riverside...  had to chase wild animals away in those days, and here, where you can pick everything from nature in abundance, but its unforgiving as well, and without faith no mountain man survives...

and shiva is what i have faith in...  to know Bhole, bhang is essential, and preparing it and having it is done like a prayer..

after filling, the holder is in receivers position, and above is the giver of the fire... respectful silence prevails, without greed it rotates, one pull person, without expectations the warmth is accepted, and serenity is explored...

a mountain of silence erupted...  shiva seemed to dance through the haze.  the receiver and giver connected in a shiva circle going right, where 'shivom'...  reverberating after each heavy breath... mesmerizing even the audience...

shakti is nature, shiva consciousness... and for mountain people, its an everyday awareness...  where you are closer to the heavens...  where rivers are created, where change is rapid...  all you have to do is just live here to understand...  he concluded with a crinkle in his eye, as he waved goodbye...

Origami

This blog's not about origami..

A paper bird, made for a child, in a cafe, ends up with a group of 5 ppl, and another person adds on and so on..

A lot of coincides seem to happen through the next couple of weeks, in mountains, where they stay in tents..

Foraging for fruits, trekking to get firewood to cook n keep warm, sharing in circles, laughing with abandon, discovering in secret, tolerating in silence, wondering in amazement...

But knowing they are labels, painting and playing music, jump to hyperspace, stare at the ever changing landscape around..

Stay cryptic..

So many changes...

Exploration of the unknown both internal &  external.. Along with a random group you met on the mountains...

Social experiments, sharing, trekking around, tripping but your group is with you in those climb ups, caring, laughing together..  Yes, I remember a lot of laughter booming..

Social experiments, self n other observation, accepting patterns n spontaneity..  Shedding conditions like bubbles (yes cy)..  Understanding colorless water and brown colored water equally..

J p pears on YouTube to drums, djambe, shaman, systems, shanti, and shanti times..  A hundred stories from cave to cake..

A time to chill...

solo camping in forest (foot notes)

solo travel...
generally human beings like to be in a group.  'social animal' is one of the archaic definition of human beings, but it still does carry some truth.  solitary punishment is considered most severe among prisoners / in jails.  its considered, if a person / human remains alone for a long time, he/she might go insane.

but many people prefer to do things alone, or be solo.  solo travelers/backpackers are one such breed.  of course, they are not forced to remain alone, but prefer to be so, for particular activity or time period.  even though, company is often a preference for many people to travel, do something, especially exploration of unknown.

but, there is something in doing exploration on your own as well.  one reason could be, lack of availability of free time and similar interests and style.  its 2017 and everyone is exceedingly busy with their life and very individualistic preferences, and if you want to do something totally as you want to do, its most humane to go solo.  of course, its just one reason.

anyway, there i was, going to an unknown reserved forest area, alone, with a backpack and a tent. my first solo trip to a forest.  it started a morning, by taking various public transports away from city towards the forest area.

(public transport takes time, but i prefer to travel with lots of time, so that reaching the destination doesnt distract me from enjoying the process / travel). public transport is also the cheapest and least carbon footprint consuming, in most cases. it exposes you to new experiences and close to many human beings you were not aware of. ok, enough plugging / advertisement for public transport.

about 3 buses and shared vehicle travels (with lots of questions to strangers, some guide you well, some rude)... reached a road, or mud path, which takes me to the forest.  the distance to one part of the forest, a tribal village was about 6 kilometers.  but walking through wooded areas, away from noise of civilization, without any vehicle or human sightings was pleasurable and calming.  very calming, and like the way dirt get washed away from your body when you pour water on it, the civilized stresses and unhappiness began to be left behind with each step.  it was happening automatically as i moved each step into the forest.

after about few kilometers into the forest, which would have taken me about an hour or 2 hours (time / clock lost its significance in the jungle), i cut across to a flowing stream.  the water was clean enough to drink, and wash off the sweat, as it was mid noon and pretty hot. i spotted elephant dung and foot marks of elephant.  its big round foot had slipped on the stream valley and left deep footprints.  the elephant or elephants as wild elephants generally travel in group, must have been there few days ago, as the ground was firm now.  the ground must have been wet and soft few days ago, as it had rained.
i was not sure, whether the forest had any animals, but, now i was sure, there are wild elephants.

wild elephants are not friendly, they are scary. i had seen some in another forest in the south, and those were aggressive and often broke up human habitats, and i had even seen them breaking small trees etc, which looked like their play activity.  wild elephants often are scarred by humans, who try to chase them away with fire crackers and loud noise etc. they are also fast runners, even though they are huge in size.  "run downhill, if elephants chase you", i told myself, as a reminder - they can run uphill much more faster than humans, thus, running downhill is the best option for humans, i had heard forest people tell me, and it seems like most logical thing to escape.

but, strangely the elephant dung and their presence didnt make me more excited or fearful as such.  i was feeling too calm and peaceful at that moment, to imagine too much into future.

(more to follow).

where is rainbow?

am new to this. i have strong belief i am not a writer. best place, start in anonymity. but i wander, and during such a wandering reached a place called 'no name' hostel. again anonymous. a sign maybe for those who want or need signs.

heard of a quote, pot of gold at the end of rainbow?  its metaphoric, but met not just one, but many who arent looking for gold but just rainbow.  even rainbow is a concept (metaphorical)..  for those who want to be all the colors inside them.. be oneself in a non judgemental way. or i think so.

pure sciences have concrete definition, and a wanderer defines flexible way. or doesnt need any.  and here met a bunch of such beings (both human & other kind). but it wasnt rainbow yet.. or thats what i thought, till i found a literal version.

(more to b added later).. whew i wrote somethin .

Life Changers...

Life Changing experiences, do they ever occur?

well, there can be some major crisis - such as sudden death, or gradual death...  falling in love, getting fired, &/ near death experience of self..  etc.  but, i am writing about, Life Changers which can happen when you are just traveling, through just mundane experiences - where the change is just 'inside' and nothing big to show on outside...

it's not just me, few others have been requested to write about it as well..  and, most of them would be anonymous people... who use this blog as a medium..  don't know what kinda stuff will come out.

for me, yes, there were life changers, definitely, in the last few months..  or last couple of years, which i remember well.  but writing them down is not so easy. but will try.

been traveling aimlessly and then met a bunch of people, and a week of that did create life changers..  will write later.

(3) Orissa state, mostly Puri

CT road in Puri, is about 2 km away from Puri railway station, and about 50 km from Bhubaneswar - capital of Orissa.  there are many home-stays available, for cheap rent of 100-150 per day.. some have attached bathroom in that one room as well.  (in season, like nov / dec, when its least hot, prices can go bit up).  overall, most things are cheaper here than most other places of India.  about 3km from CT road, there is Bengali beach (locally known that way), which is touristy and crowded area, with Puri market and lots of buildings around.  the Jagannath temple of Puri, from many many centuries ago is near these area as well.

CT road is mostly residence area of fishermen, which is gradually changing.  about 1km away from CT road beach, towards north, is called as 'empty' beach, which is a deserted area.. great for quiet walks.   the beaches are good, but the sea water is not so clean, as on couple of areas in these long stretch of beach, waste water (small streams) flow into sea.  its such a pity, as there seem to be multiple NGO's / organizations, who are trying to keep everything clean.  a waste water treatment plant is a necessity here. sea waves are rough and it gets deep quickly, so swimming should be recommended for good swimmers.

street food is great in Puri, and various milk based sweets are a must.  Konark temple (more than 1000 years old) is few kilometers away.  there are many other ancient temples around within few km vicinity, but beware of some people who will try to con you out of some money, posing as priests, guides etc.

bicycles can be rented, many corner tea stalls are there to sit leisurely to meet other backpackers, narrow streets are there to explore around.  there are forest areas, and smaller beaches too around.  one day tour buses are there, which charge about 200 rupees per person, and could be used first to explore, and then travel on your own pace later, if required. but overall, its an idle relaxing vacation place, and most shops are aimed at such travelers in CT road.

didnt take many photos here.  though noticed, the sun sets here comparatively early than in Mumbai..  like around 5pm onwards, and gets darker by around 6pm.. it rises early too,  well, maybe i should have noted down, specific aspects everyday, during my stay here, but my main aim was to experience everything first..  so, orissa days now seem idle, leisure days.. which they were.

sunset at puri beach, around 5.15pm

at Konark Temple... huge stone wheel

 at CT road.. a temple
